High Desert Horsemen, a local horse club that was established in 2005, will be holding its annual Trail Trial at Fort Churchill Boy Scout Camp, Weeks, NV on Saturday, September 14, 2013. The club donates a good portion of the proceeds back to the community. Last year's recipients were: Dayton Food Bank, Kids N Horses, Dog Town Canine Rescue, and Feeding Pets of the Homeless.
Registration will begin at 8:30 and rideout is at 10 a.m. Open to all riders. Fees: $25/17 and under; $35/adults; $20/schooling; and $10 companion rider. Lunch is included in the fee. Placings will be for 1-6th place with High Point Awards for Novice, Intermediate and Advanced.
This is a fun ride on sandy ground in the cottonwood trees by the Carson River and on the high Nevada desert. There are restrooms available but no water. Dry camping is available.
